The malicious software WanaCryptor 2.0 which is also known as WCry is now being utilized to carry out one of the largest ransomware attacks of its kind. Just a few days ago, we have seen a 22-Year-Old security researcher from @Malware TechBlog had found a ‘kill switch’ that can disable all the functionality of the Wanacrypt0r 2.0 ransomware. Well, the ransomware tries to connect to an unregistered domain after running on victim’s computer. Well, the reason why we are talking about the 22-Year-Old Security researcher again is because he intends to donate a substantial monetary reward offered to him to charity. Marcus Hutchins, who is also known as MalwareTech was responsible for halting the spread of WannaCry ransomware on Friday. HackerOne, a platform for cyber security professionals had offered Marcus Hutchins a $10.000. HackerOne is a platform where security experts and researchers responsibly report potential security issues in software, often in return for a cash reward, a so-called bug bounty. However, Marcus Hutchins doesn’t want to receive the prize money and plans to donate the amount to charity.
